How your information is handled.

What Adulting Finances collects, why, which services process it and the choices you have.

Last updated September 28, 2026

Information we collect

  • Contact details (name and email) when you request a resource, send a message, join an interest list or create an account.
  • Details you choose to share, such as a topic, timeframe or message.
  • Account and Plan Builder information, including your login details, the household financial inputs you save, purchase records and reports you generate.
  • Basic technical data, such as browser and device information, through hosting logs and, only if you allow it, optional analytics.

How we use it

  • To provide what you ask for, like the checklist download or access to the Plan Builder.
  • To reply to questions, provide product support and let you know when an interest-list offer opens.
  • To record newsletter preferences you separately choose.
  • To understand which educational pages are useful, in aggregate, when you allow analytics.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell your personal information.
  • We don’t share your information with third parties for their marketing.
  • We don’t send your Plan Builder inputs through the public click-tracking endpoint.

Services that process information

The website uses HubSpot for contact records, inquiry history, newsletter preferences and optional visitor analytics; Stripe for payments; Resend for email delivery; and Vercel for hosting. Information from contact and download forms can be sent to HubSpot. If you choose to send your Plan Builder report to Adulting Finances, the report can be uploaded to HubSpot and delivered by email through Resend. Ryan reads a report you send to answer educational questions about how the numbers work. He doesn’t send back recommendations, an allocation or a verdict on whether your plan is good. A reply is optional. Stripe processes card details directly; Adulting Finances never sees your full card number.

Email and analytics choices

Requesting a resource or asking a question doesn’t subscribe you to marketing emails. Where newsletter signup is available, the optional checkbox records the wording version and time of your request, and existing unsubscribe preferences are respected. Submissions are saved with their delivery status so a temporary outage doesn’t lose your message.

Optional analytics require a separate cookie choice, and you can reopen Cookie preferences from the site footer at any time. A browser Global Privacy Control signal is treated as a choice to decline. Campaign tags may be saved for the current browser session only when analytics is allowed.

Retention

We keep submissions, account data and communications only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, provide the service, maintain records and meet legal obligations.

If you ask us to close your account, we remove your saved plan, its dated copies, your progress, your privacy choices and your community posts, and confirm in writing within 30 days. We keep a record of any purchase, with your name and email removed, for accounting and refunds. Some copies can’t be removed: emails already sent, payment records held by Stripe, and database backups until they expire on their normal schedule.

Your choices

To access or update your information, to have a report you sent removed, or to close your account, email info@adultingfinances.com from the address on your account. Turning a privacy choice off in your account stops future use; it doesn’t delete what was already saved or sent.

Submitting a form doesn’t create a client relationship or constitute financial, legal or tax advice.
